What you can do with this tool

IDS-DRR is designed to move users from data awareness to actionable insights for disaster management and resource allocation.

1. Identify High-Risk Regions

This use case allows officials to pinpoint which districts or sub-districts require the most immediate attention for pre-monsoon preparedness.

Action: Select the Overall Risk indicator and scan the map for “Red” (Very High Risk) regions to identify where interventions are most urgent.

2. Diagnose the Cause of Risk

Once a high-risk region is identified, the tool helps determine whether the risk is driven by nature or socio-economic conditions.

Action: Click on a high-risk district and compare the Hazard and Vulnerability risk levels in the data overlay (panel to the right). This helps identify if the risk is driven by extreme weather or socio-economic fragility.

3. Evaluate Resource Adequacy (Gap Analysis)

This flow helps officials assess whether the most at-risk regions are receiving sufficient administrative support.

Action: Select the Government Response indicator or any data point under it while viewing a high-risk area. These datapoints can help you identify a critical gap where funding or tenders should be prioritized.
